Brinkworth Results

Lincoln orienteers welcomed approx 45 participants to the last event of the season today, at the beautiful Brinkworth Reserve. The course setter provided a twist on normal proceedings with no control numbers or descriptions provided on the maps. This did prove rather challenging for both new and experienced competitors but hopefully helped sharpen our orienteering skills for next season! I also learned something new… that our SI sticks have a maximum storage capacity of 30 controls!!

Junior orienteers Sienna White and Austin Clem raced around the long course in 23 and 24 minutes respectively, and were closely followed by Tim Ashman a couple a minutes behind. For the short courseĀ Noah and Etta McConnell did extremely well to complete their course in the fastest time without any mistakes. Well Done!

Due to the technical difficulties, the “mispunches” for all participants have been ignored, and today’s results are based on start and finish times only. Please click onĀ the link for details: Brinkworth Results.

Many people stayed for a sausage sizzle, which was then followed by a relay event, where teams of 3-4 competed against each other to find a selection of controls. The winning team was Sienna, Bella and Bronwyn, who completed their course in 15minutes, followed by Darren, Chris and Kadek who were less than a minute behind.

Thanks to Graeme for cooking the BBQ today, and thanks to everyone who came out to an event this year. It’s been a fun and successful season!! Stay tuned for details regarding our presentation night.
