The Eyre Peninsula Interclub Relays saw Lincoln Orienteers pitted against Saltbush Orienteers once again. While our A team retained the Ironstone trophy, Saltbush won the B and C classes (Jade and Quartz trophies) and the overall trophy. Although the overall trophy will need to make a special trip to Whyalla after it was left on a certain mantlepiece in Port Lincoln…fortunately I had acquired a chocolate replacement en route which hopefully eased Saltbush’s disappointment for not receiving the actual trophy!!
A special mention to our junior orienteers Austin, Bella and Elodie who all performed extremely admirably on new and challenging terrain, and to Kadek who is relatively new to orienteering, for persevering and finishing his B course! Well done. Apologies for underestimating the course difficulty somewhat!
