Approx 60 participants were greeted by beautiful weather conditions at the picturesque “Mourilya” for today’s orienteering event. It was great to see some new faces giving orienteering a try at the first cross country event of this season.
Our junior orienteers showed their class and speed today, winning all three of the hard courses. Austin Clem finished first in the “Hard Long” course in 55:51 mins, a few minutes ahead of Tim Ashman.
Sienna White blitzed the field in the “Hard Short” with a time of 36:21 mins, and Amelia Suffolk raced around the “Hard X” course in 19:17 mins. (This was after she had already completed the “Moderate Long” course, with her sister Mikayla, in the quickest time of 48:06mins!). Well done to everyone that competed!

Many thanks to Bron for helping with course planning and on the registration desk, and to Lee and Neil Russell for control placement, and of course for hosting us on their property!
Join us for the next event at “Log Hut Gully” near Tumby Bay on the 26th May.
